How to Leverage This
Focus on face-to-face visibility. Be where your clients are—local events, industry mixers, and collaborations with aligned businesses.
If you truly show up wherever you are as an architect - then this is simply how you live your life. Whether its hobbies, school pick-up lines, sports events, or volunteering - you are there to create a genuine connection with other people. You don’t need to push on others that you are an architect, but you will let them know. And when they start to describe a potential home renovation or new brick & mortar business - you are asking questions and listening to their answers.
Remember to follow up with a friendly “It was great meeting you at that event! You mentioned [an office renovation or problem with your current mudroom], I just wanted to follow up and see if there was anything I could do to help.” Not every lead will move forward, but you are showing up in your true colors and word will spread. Be helpful in connecting individuals with contractors or other professionals if needed. But also let them know if you can help find the perfect solution for their problem!
